Our Financial Philosophy:

  1. We will not have fund raisers, golf tournaments or other events for the purpose of raising money.

  2. We will not send out letters or mailings of any kind requesting donations.

We are not saying that these things are bad or in any way wrong to have, we will just not do them.

Financial goals:

* To obtain 1,000 annual sponsors that contribute at least $125 a year to support an annual budget of $125,000. Regardless of how the ministry grows, it is not expected or desired that the ministry budget grow beyond that.

Giving Policies:

§  The Grand Lodge Fellowship is a faith-based 501 C-3 public ministry. As such, you should receive a thank-you note for your contribution shortly after your gift, and a year-end statement reflecting total contributions for the year.

§  No public cash contributions were used to renovate the Grand Lodge facility. That much needed work was completed by a special grant from the KB Charitable Trust so that 100% of all public contributions could be applied directly to ministry efforts.

List of “Non-Cash” Items needed

- Stones for bricking up the Grey/Brown brick foundation around the house.

Donating Your Time (Volunteer needs):

It would be impossible for you to want to get involved and us not have something that you can do. Perhaps our greatest need at this point is more volunteers getting involved, so thank you in advance for looking for opportunities. Here is a list of areas where volunteers are needed and some specific tasks needed to be completed under each of these areas:

1.     Working with the Discipleship Residence Program:

·       Businessmen willing to mentor one of our residence.

·       Help providing a weekly meal on Monday nights.

·       Speakers for small group teaching sessions.

·       Help planning and coordinating outdoor activities designed to build community among those living at the house.

2.     Working with “The Lodge” Campus Outreach:

·       Local residence willing to rotate as speakers at the Thursday night Bible Studies.

·       Help with Thursday night meals before the Bible Study.

·       Volunteers qualified to counsel students with their specific needs and emotional issues and/or spiritual questions.

·       Committee members desiring to help over-see this outreach and all of its activities.

3.     Working with International Student Fellowship:

·       Volunteers needed to help pick international students up at airports and welcome them to Johnson City.

·       Help providing meals for the Sunday night Bible Studies.

·       Help getting welcome packages together and distributing to each student.

·       Committee members desiring to help over-see this outreach and all of its activities.

4.     Working with Business Lunch outreach:

·       Guest Speakers needed for the weekly lunch challenge.

·       Help planning quarterly outreach lunches.

·       Help coordinating the weekly lunches held at the Grand Lodge such as planning the meals, setup and cleanup afterwards.

·       Committee members desiring to help over-see this outreach and all of its activities.

5.     Working with the Fellowship/Retreat activities:

·       Help with coordination of weekend and week-long retreats such as working with the various group leaders planning their event at the Grand Lodge, preparing the rooms, making sure there are adequate supplies and organizing house cleaning after each event.

·       Committee members desiring to help over-see this outreach and all of its activities.

6.     Working with final Grand Lodge Repairs and Renovations:

·       With a house this size and with 28 rooms, there are always things that need repaired and desired renovations to make things better. Presently the greatest needs in this area are:

·       Kitchen: Renovate to enable serving large numbers of people,  and to have a “Lodge” theme/decoration.

·       Landscaping: The yard is being re-seeded and the weeds killed. Lots of plants are needed to be planted, and brown pea gravel spread in the landscape beds.

·       Brick Mason: To help stone the grey/brown foundation bricks.

·       Chapel:  Help installing a large stained glass window.

·       Lobby Staircase:  We are sanding the original Tiger Oak trim work and re-staining to match the original hardwood floors. This will take a long time for a few people, or not so long if lots of people do a small part.

·       Back fence: As soon as we have the volunteers we want to plan a work day to take down the very old and very ugly fence in the back yard along the alley. It will involve installing 6 x 6 post every eight feet, then posting cross beams to nail the fence pickets. The current price of lumber is putting this project on hold… so we will paint the fence to buy us some time.

·       Misc. other items all the time.

7.     Working with final Grand Lodge Decorations:

The entire house has a cabin/lodge theme and we need help with decoration ideas to give it that rustic lodge feel.  There are 28 rooms in the house, so there is always plenty of room for more ideas and suggestions.  To help in this way please call Brent Sanders at 864-230-3300.
